Relevant Models

We want to adopt relevant models to effectively reach children, youth, and families in the national or local context being served.

Models provide valuable strategies or frameworks that help guide the learning experience. They typically help foster participation, connection, and excitement surrounding the teachings at hand. For models to be most effective, relevance is key. Each context in which a model is implemented will vary, whether that is regionally, culturally, or generationally. Currently, statistics revealed through Connecting with The Next Generation show that 44% of churches say their biggest need is better knowledge of children and youth ministry practices.

The complexity to make models relevant increases when working in isolation. Collaboration, on the other hand, facilitates the contextualization and relevance of the right models applicable to a given context. InCommon seeks to foster that collaboration. When working and learning together, our ability to see every church equipped with biblically rooted and relevant models to engage children and youth increases.
