As ministry leaders passionate about seeing the next generation flourishing in the hope only found in Jesus, we can get discouraged facing the challenges that impact outreach toward the next generation.
In the study Connecting with the Next Generation, 60% of churches say they have seen less than 10% growth in their children’s ministry in the past one to two years.
There could be many contributing factors that impact growth. For example, trends have shown an increase in teens who are religiously unaffiliated. According to the Global Youth Culture, 34% of teens globally do not identify with any religion. This could be because of hurt, apathy, or lack of exposure.
This highlights the great opportunity that exists to engage the next generation with a rich, deep Gospel that transforms and enriches lives. To do so effectively, outreach is important. Depending on the needs of the community and the resources of the Church, it can take many different forms.
As we work together, we can strengthen and multiply each of our outreach efforts to reach the next generation for Jesus.
